Book Reading: A Dangerous New World

Book Reading: A Dangerous New World
Date: June 29, 2020
Time: 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Annaliese Jakimides,  a two-time finalist in both prose and poetry for the Maine Literary Awards, will read from and talk about A Dangerous New World: Maine Voices on the Climate Crisis, an anthology of work by 65 writers and 27 artists responding to the effects of climate change—on their lives, their communities, their families.

How does this work, individually and collectively, get made? And, personally, how does one writer explore the origins, the edges and the core, of where work takes her? Published in journals, magazine, and anthologies, as well as broadcast on Maine Public and NPR, Jakimides’s most recent recognition was for “Cachexia of Time,” a finalist for the 2019 Stephen Dunn Poetry Prize, judged by Reginald Dwayne Betts.
